The National Association of Nigeria Students has expressed anger over decision of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to embark on indefinite strike. The students called on the federal government to urgently address the plight of the lecturers. The student' union said that the federal Government has 21 days to address the agitating issues it has with ASUU, and threatened that failure to address the issues within the given period of time will leave Nigerian students with no option than to ground all activities in the country.
This was contained in as statement the national president of NANs, Chinoso Obasi made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday. He said it is with deep pain and regret that NANs, received the news of another indefinite strike by ASUS over the federal Government's indifference to their plight.
Nigerian student see the breakdown in negotiations as a further proof that political leaders don't about their future. Consequently, we wish to call on the federal Government to do all it can to get ASUU back to classroom.
